Every once in a while, an entire treatment will get a boost in value. This recently happened with the Showcase Scrolls and the Borderless Poster cards from the Special Edition Lord of the Rings Collector Boosters. These cards were incredibly limited in quantity, so when the market began to dry up, prices skyrocketed.
The same appears to be happening with Future Sight cards that appear in Mystery Booster 2. We already saw the massive prices that Future Sight Frame foils were going for, but now, even the nonfoil variants seem to be spiking heavily in price.
Elvish Reclaimer
- Mana Value: G
- Rarity: Rare
- Stats: 1/2
- MTG Sets: Core Set 2020, Mystery Booster 2
- Card Text: Elvish Reclaimer gets +2/+2 as long as there are three or more land cards in your graveyard. (2), (tap), Sacrifice a Land: Search your library for a land card, put it onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle.
Elvish Reclaimer has seen a huge spike this week, but only in the variant pictured above. This card is only available in Mystery Booster 2, where you can find one Future Sight Frame card per pack.
The issue is that Mystery Booster 2 boxes are rather hard to get access to. You won’t be able to find this at your local store, or somewhere like Walmart. You must find it at a MagicCon event, or purchase a Festival in a Box from the Secret Lair site.
When the Festival in a Box started shipping out, the marketplace experienced a flood of Mystery Booster 2. Following this, players quickly began buying up the Future Sight Frame cards they wanted, dwindling the limited supply. As usual, this has caused the price of many Future Sight Frame cards to absolutely skyrocket.
Elvish Reclaimer is a bit of a weird case, even among the various Future Sight Frame cards that are spiking. This card appears to be going $14-15 at the moment (up from $5 at the beginning of the month), but there are a few outlier sales that went for $40. At the moment, the lowest price of this card available on TCGplayer is $20.
Like many of the Future Sight Frame cards appearing in Mystery Booster 2, Elvish Reclaimer is primarily a Legacy staple. Seeing play in Cradle Control and Lands, Elvish Reclaimer is one of the best ways to tutor up utility lands that can change the flow of battle. Whether you need a ton of mana with Gaea’s Cradle, are trying to assemble a Marit Lage with the Dark Depths and Thespian’s Stage combo, or are trying to control your opponent’s creatures with Tabernacle of Pendrell Vale, Elvish Reclaimer has got you covered.

Dark Ritual, another card that sees Legacy, and some Commander play, is going up in its Future Sight Frame variant. Up from $9 near the end of September, this card is now going for anywhere between $12 and $20. In Commander Dark Ritual really only sees play in competitive decks.
Rot Hulk, a card that only sees Commander play, has increased from about $4 to $20 in its Future Sight Frame variant. The card routinely sees play in Zombie Commander decks but fails to see much play elsewhere. Notably, Rot Hulk only has two printings including this one. Both are printed in sets that did not see a proper print run, which means that the card is quite rare.
Norwood Priestess is yet another Future Sight Frame card seeing a spike from Mystery Booster 2. This card doesn’t really see a ton of play anywhere, but it does remain a powerful way to cheat creature cards out of your hand and into play. As a result, this card is bound to see Commander play in decks that are predominantly green in color.
Norwood Priestess’s sales have spiked from $6 to $14 over the last five days, and as of this article’s writing, they were as high as $19.
There are other Future Sight Frame cards seeing price spikes, but these are the most impressive spikes at the moment. Alongside these cards, the white-bordered cards only found in Mystery Booster 2 boxes are also spiking, but those will be discussed in another article.
