Innistrad Remastered Leak Reveals Iconic Retro Frame Planeswalker

Releasing January 24th, 2025, Innistrad Remastered is bound to bring a boatload of sweet reprints and Booster Fun treatments to the table. While not much has been officially revealed thus far, we already know that Edgar Markov is returning as the set’s Headliner card. There’s clearly a lot to look forward to.

Just yesterday on the PaymoneyWubby subreddit, a leak revealed that one of MTG’s most iconic Planeswalkers will be part of Innistrad Remastered. Notably, this is a leak and not an official preview so it could turn out to be fake. If you’d like to wait for an official announcement, consider this your spoiler warning.

Nonetheless, we’re going to talk about this Innistrad Remastered leak under the assumption that it is indeed real. So, without further ado, let’s dive right in and look at this awesome reprint in all its glory.

Liliana of the Veil Retro Frame

Liliana of the Veil

Liliana of the Veil is so back. Liliana is an incredibly iconic Planeswalker that used to be a Modern super staple. Jund decks curving Tarmogoyf into Liliana ruled Modern for over a decade.

Unfortunately, the card is not what it used to be. Since the arrival of multiple Modern Horizons sets, Liliana has largely been power crept out of Modern. It was reprinted in Dominaria United yet still hasn’t made a ton of noise in Pioneer or Standard. The -2 ability can at least come in clutch against creatures with Hexproof or Ward, so you’ll see it pop up from time to time.

However, in spite of all of this, players seem genuinely excited just based on the card treatment alone. This is the first time Liliana is getting retro frame treatment. Furthermore, this is one of the first instances of a Planeswalker receiving a retro border with otherwise traditional templating. As such, it looks gorgeous and is simultaneously easy to read.

Reprint Value

Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer

As things currently stand, Liliana of the Veil holds a rather hefty price tag. Even though the card has been reprinted many times, the cheapest non-foil variant is valued at roughly $14 according to TCGPlayer market price.

That being said, the price of the retro frame version from Innistrad Remastered could vary quite a bit. Every Play Booster features a retro frame card, which may reduce the price of this treatment due to an overabundance of supply. We saw this happen with the Multiverse Legends bonus sheet, as even the priciest cards like Ragavan plummeted.

It’s still a bit unclear exactly how frequently players will open retro frame mythic rares, which should ultimately be a big determining factor when it comes to Liliana’s price. Either way, this is an awesome reprint in a cool style that will certainly be in high demand.
