Festival in a Box 2025 Boasts Pricy Retro Frame Zombie Bonus Cards

Share

Festival in a Box 2025 was a wildly popular product, selling out within 4 hours of going live just a few days ago. This collection has it all, boasting valuable singles like The First Sliver as well as a Myster Booster 2 box.

For those fortunate enough to get their hands on the Festival in a Box 2025, it appears a handful of bonus cards are starting to get revealed. Yesterday, we showcased the ultra-rare Seven Dwarves bonus card as well as a retro frame Zombie in Diregraf Captain.

Today, we have a couple more Zombie bonus cards to share with you all. This all but confirms the retro Zombie theme for bonus cards this time around that we had suspected. While these cards aren’t quite as exhilarating as the ultra-rare Seven Dwarves, they both add some extra value to an already lucrative product.

Relentless Dead

Relentless Dead

First up, we have Relentless Dead. Relentless Dead is a very powerful option for any Zombie Commander deck. Thanks to its first triggered ability, it’s very difficult for your opponents to permanently deal with Relentless Dead.

Then, when you add in the second triggered ability, Relentless Dead becomes a force to be reckoned with. Any sacrifice engines like Ashnod’s Altar make it trivial to resurrect other Zombies from your graveyard at will.

Relentless Dead has yet to see a single reprint in paper since first appearing in Shadows over Innistrad. As such, this potent mythic rare is worth roughly $10 in its cheapest non-foil form and $24 in traditional foil, according to TCGplayer market price. This retro frame version is bound to be worth a decent chunk of change, making it a welcome inclusion as a bonus card.

Diregraf Colossus

Diregraf Colossus

The second bonus card that holds some value is Diregraf Colossus. Diregraf Colossus is another creature that is a perfect inclusion in Zombie Commander decks of all kinds. Commanders like Varina, Lich Queen do a particularly good job maximizing all aspects of Diregraf Colossus.

The more you fuel your graveyard, the larger Diregraf Colossus will be. At the same time, getting to build out an army by casting other Zombies with Diregraf Colossus in play is a sure-fire way to enable Varina. Going wide also further maximizes other legends like The Scarab God or Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver that you may have leading your Zombie squad.

Unlike Relentless Dead, Diregraf Colossus has been reprinted once already since Shadows over Innistrad. In this case, the card was also printed in one of the Innistrad: Midnight Hunt Commander Precons.

Even still, Diregraf Colossus holds a price tag of nearly $6 in its cheapest non-foil form. This number has risen a bit since the Aetherdrift Commander Precons were revealed, in part because of how strong Hashaton, Scarab’s Fist is.

So, having a bunch of retro frame Zombie Commander staples show up as bonus cards right before Aetherdrift’s official release is perfect timing. Relentless Dead and Diregraf Colossus are perfect choices, but make sure to be on the lookout for any other sweet bonus cards that get revealed in the coming days.
