Fan Favorite MTG Chaos Vault Drop Release Date Announced by Original Creator

Share

Secret Lair has undeniably upped their game in recent times. The brand had multiple blockbuster crossover drops, offering popular characters from across pop culture reimagined as MTG cards. Secret Lair even took ownership of a poorly received Monster Hunter Secret Lair, taking it back to the drawing board. Showing a dedication to creating stronger products after a poor reception, from a player perspective, is extremely exciting.

That said, for many MTG players, the Secret Lair with the most hype behind it was announced some time ago. We’ve known that a Dandan-themed Secret Lair has been on its way for some time now. That said, despite spoilers for the deck being announced three months ago, we’ve heard nothing about it since. Finally, the release date for the MTG Dandan Secret Lair has been revealed, and with it, the controversy surrounding this Secret Lair drop has been resolved.

The Chaos Vault: Dandân Secret Lair Drop Release Date

Dandan Secret Lair

After months of silence, thanks to an X post from user Phloidesign, the release date for the upcoming MTG Dandan Secret Lair has been revealed for March 2026. Considering that Chaos Vault products are routinely dropped without prior announcement, it’s surprising to receive any advance notice of a product.

Notably, this post also confirms that Dandan’s original creator, Nick Floyd, is working with Wizards of the Coast on the final form of their Dandan Secret Lair product. Floyd’s absence from the product was a point of controversy when this Secret Lair was first spoiled, and it’s great to see that the mind behind this beloved cult classic will be part of the product designed after it.

For those unaware, Dandan is a sub-game within MTG where both players share the same 80-card deck that has gained a lot of traction over the last few years. The namesake card is the only creature allowed in the deck at 10 copies, which creates lots of opportunities for unique intricacies. This results in a highly unique gameplay experience that feels like a convoluted Blue Tempo mirror. If you want to stretch your wits playing MTG, this Secret Lair should offer a board-game-esque out-of-the-box experience that many players love.

To date, we’ve already received a fair number of spoilers for the Dandan Secret Lair, with a total reprint value floating around the $65 mark. That said, because Dandan decks routinely contain 80 cards, this Secret Lair will likely be far more expensive than the average product.

Get Ready for Busy Lines

It’s clear from today’s announcements, especially since the biggest controversial point towards this Secret Lair has been remedied, that players are incredibly excited about this Secret Lair Chaos Vault drop. With many requests to print this in high quantities, this Secret Lair drop could sell out fast.

That said, many of the recent Secret Lair drops have been available for far longer than anyone anticipated, with some mechanically unique cards being available for weeks before finally selling out. This suggests that Wizards of the Coast has figured out a better quantity to meet community demand. That said, as Secret Lair fans know, these products selling out too quickly is far too common, and still happens routinely. Hopefully, this upcoming sale won’t be a disaster.
