Article at a Glance

Commander is one of MTG‘s most popular formats and is growing with every new set release. There has never been a better time to jump into the format with some excellent deals from Amazon.

Often you’ll see individual Commander pre-constructed decks in the $25-35 prince range. However, with Prime Day amongst us, there are some excellent deals on complete Commander sets which are of incredible value. Let’s break down some of the best Commander deals on Prime Day!

Prime Day Deals on MTG Commander Decks

Magic: The Gathering – Strixhaven: School of Mages Commander Decks Display of 5 Decks – Now $89.99 (was $159.95)

Strixhaven: School of Mages is the most recent Standard set, and the Commander decks are of excellent value too. Also known as Commander (2021 Edition), this collection of decks feature one of each of the Strixhaven Colleges — Lorehold, Silverquill, Prismari. Quandrix, and Witherbloom. With this, it gives you a wide range of options for you and your friends to try out.

There’s some card value in this set with Archaeomancer’s Map sitting at $18 on TCGPlayer due to the ramp ability in White. As such, Veyran, Voice of Duality is currently at $13 on TCGplayer as it’s one of the best Prismari-colored Commanders around. If you aren’t fussed about the high-value cards, you can always flip them to recuperate costs.

Magic: The Gathering – Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths Commander Decks | All 5 Decks – Now $69.99 (was $105.40)

Although Ikoria Lair of Behemoths came out last year, the Commander preconstructed decks are some of the best Wizards of the Coast have created. Ikoria is all about charging big and dangerous monsters into battle towards victory.

What makes this selection of Commander decks great value is the independently powerful cards included. Within this set, you have Fierce Guardianship and Deflecting Swat which sees regular play in Commander pods. Going further, Fierce Guardianship is selling for $40 on TCGplayer right now, and Deflecting Swat is sitting at $30 on TCGplayer currently.

Combining those two totals, you’re getting 5 Commander decks for the value of those two cards. If you’re savvy on the MTG finance side of things, you can flip Deflecting Swat and Fierce Guardianship to pay for this set of Commander decks. This is a great Prime Day deal and allows you to dip into Commander with friends!
