MTG players have been waiting for the Dandan Secret Lair drop for a long time. First hinted at back in January, 2025, this Secret Lair still hasn’t hit shelves more than a year later. As if this wasn’t frustrating enough, it was recently revealed that the Dandan deck will be launching via the Chaos Vault. To put it lightly, MTG players weren’t happy about this unexpected, potentially damning, change.
Not only do Chaos Vault products often sell out incredibly quickly, but up until recently, they’ve been dropped without warning. Thankfully, it seems Wizards is continuing this recent trend for the much-anticipated Dandan Secret Lair drop. If a recently released video on social media is anything to go by, the Dandan Secret Lair may be releasing very soon.
Dandan Coming Next Monday?
On March 12th, MTG Secret Lair shared a short video on social media, dedicated to the long-teased upcoming product. Much of this video focused on the format’s creator, Nick Floyd, who, controversially, wasn’t involved with this project to begin with. Thankfully, Wizards has since rectified this mistake, and the new video showcases the love and respect held for the fan-made format.
After recognizing Floyd for his remarkable achievement, the video ended with a simple ‘coming soon’ announcement. Unfortunately, this didn’t have a proper, clear-cut release date to look forward to, but it did have some dice. As you can see above, these dice spell out 316, which fits 3/16 in a date format. If this theory is correct, that means the Dandan Chaos Vault will release on March 16th, this coming Monday.
Considering Secret Lair’s usual patterns, there’s a good chance that MTG players are spot on about this subtle hint. Secret Lair drops, including Chaos Vault releases, almost always come out on a Monday, so this easily fits that trend. Whether or not this is a red herring, however, remains to be seen for the moment.
Technically, the decklist for the Dandan Secret Lair drop has already been unveiled, following its appearance at MagicCon Atlanta. Notably, while it’s likely this is the exact product we’ll be getting upon release, there’s a chance it was tweaked once Floyd became more involved. As always, it’s difficult to know exactly what we’ll get from a Chaos Vault drop, but don’t be surprised if this is it.
Not Long Now
Ultimately, if this hint is correct, we’re unlikely to get another one before the release. Considering the release of the Dandan Secret Lair is just four days away now, this isn’t really too surprising. Hopefully, when this long-awaited product finally comes out, it’ll actually live up to players’ expectations.
