As many players will assuredly know already, Magic: The Gathering can be a rather expensive game to play. Outside of Pauper and the most casual Commander tables, MTG decks can easily cost hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Thanks to this, it’s no wonder that many MTG players are often on the lookout for deals to help cut costs.
If you’re one such value-hungry player looking to save a buck, you’re in luck, as everyone’s favorite mega corporation is here to save the day. Running from the 10th to the 11th of October, it’s now Amazon Prime Day. Offering a bevy of deals, only to prime members, Amazon is clearing out its warehouses at an alarmingly efficient rate.
Beyond offering countless deals on tech, toasters, and toiletries, Amazon Prime Day is also amazing for MTG players. Offering deep discounts on sealed products now is a better time than any to pick up some packs. Whether you’re looking to jam some Drafts or just browse the deals, here’s all the best that Amazon Prime Day has to offer for MTG players!
As a quick note before we get into everything, however, Amazon Prime Day deals can sell out incredibly quickly, especially on MTG product. Thankfully, when one deal disappears, it usually doesn’t take long before another one is added. So, if your favorite deal from this article has disappeared, a little bit of browsing will likely turn up a few more stellar deals!
Amazon Prime Day MTG Deals
Whether you’re looking to crack packs or have a good time with friends, one of Amazon Prime Day’s greatest bits is the Booster Box deals. Offering deep discounts on all manner of Booster Boxes, these sales are definitely hard to ignore, and I’m saying that as an Arena player! Between Draft, Set, and even Collector Boosters, a huge number of products are on sale today, so let’s not hesitate to jump into the best bits!
Dominaria Remastered Discounts
To kick things off, 2023’s forgotten set is currently available for a lot cheaper than usual. Released at the very start of the year, Dominaria United miraculously came and went without much fanfare. Despite this, however, the set is actually a ton of fun, with plenty of interesting cards.
Between Force of Will, Vampriic Tutor and Urza’s Incubator, there are undoubtedly plenty of exciting reprints. Alongside this, the set also offers a wonderfully nostalgic experience to long-time MTG players. Easily described as MTG’s true 30th Anniversary Set, there’s a lot to love about this release.
Currently, thanks to Amazon Prime Day, sealed Dominaria Remastered products are going for a lot less than usual. Down from $122, a Dominaria Remastered Draft Booster Box can now be yours for just $110. This puts it a low closer to the market-expected value (around $108) of cracking all the packs inside.
If you’re after something a little bit fancier, Dominaria Remastered Collector Booster Boxes are also on sale right now. Listed for just $167, players can save almost $30 thanks to Amazon Prime Day right now! Currently, the expected value from Dominaria Remastered Collector Boosters sits at around $180.
2021 Innistrad Boxes Going Cheap
If you’re looking for something a little bit less modern, albeit still Standard-relevant, 2021’s Innistrad is remarkably cheap at the moment. Containing Standard staples, great lands, and a few Commander powerhouses, there’s a lot to love about these two sets. This is especially true of the Draft environment, which offers a lot of compelling mechanics and flavor.
Ultimately, while the two Innistrad sets from 2021 may not be the fondest memories, they’re still great MTG sets. This is especially true when they can be picked up for cheap thanks to Amazon Prime Day. Currently, if you’re after some Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, Set, and Draft Booster Boxes are almost $30 off!
Selling for $70 for a Draft Booster Box, and $74 for a Set Booster Box, Amazon is offering some seriously deep discounts! As you might expect, the immense discounts on these items make them great for both value hunters and Draft fans. In case you’re curious, the expected value for a Draft Booster Box is around $68. A Set Booster Box, meanwhile, is valued at around $77.
Unfortunately, while there are some good deals on offer, Innistrad: Crimson Vow isn’t quite as lucrative. Only falling in price to around $85 for a Set Booster Box, this sealed product isn’t exactly the cheapest. That being said, however, it’s more than cheap enough to match the expected value from the set, which is around $89.
Alongside the Innistrad: Crimson Vow Set Boosters being discounted, the set’s Bundle is also going cheap right now. Available for just $30, this box offers 9 Boosters alongside a few enticing accessories.
The Brothers’ War Galore
While 2021’s Innistrad sets are in Standard for now, unfortunately, their days are numbered. Rotating out in 2024, most of the set’s cards will see some drop in price before too long. Thankfully, the same is not true of The Brothers’ War, which is around for another two long years. Due to this, the set currently boasts a whole lot of value for MTG fans.
Like all the sets on this list, The Brothers’ War had a deeply enjoyable Draft experience that harkened back to the days of old. As fun as this was, however, unfortunately, Draft Boosters aren’t on sale today, so that fun will have to wait. Instead, today we are here for value as we look at Collector and Set Booster Boxes.
If you’re looking to crack a box of Collector Boosters, The Brothers’ War is definitely the set de jour this Amazon Prime Day. Boasting an immense $53 discount, this Booster Box is currently selling for just $167. Considering how low this sale price is, we wouldn’t be at all surprised if this deal isn’t around for long, especially since the expected value is around $187.
While there is no beating the Serialized MTG cards found in Collector Boosters, they’re not the only product on sale. The Brother’s War Set Boosters, for instance, are currently selling for just $76. $30 lower than regular prices, this deal is a great way to hunt for some value. Whether you’re after Portal to Phyrexia, Cityscape Leveler, or Myrel, Shield of Argive there’s plenty of value available. Speaking of value, the expected value from this product is typically around $85.
If Booster Boxes aren’t your style, currently the set’s Bundle is also available for just $28.
Even More Dominaria Discounts
To keep going on and on about Standard staples, Dominaria United was an absolute doozy of a set. Containing Liliana of the Veil, Leyline Binding, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, this set completely warped the Standard meta. As you might expect because of this, these cards are rather expensive, to say the least.
While Sheoldred, the Apocalypse may be worth $70 on their own, the expected value for sealed Dominaria United isn’t as good as you might expect. Despite this, however, it can still be a lot of fun to crack plenty of packs thanks to the flavor of the set. If you’re eager to do just this, look no further than the Set Booster Box currently on sale.
Down to $92, the Dominaria United Set Booster Box isn’t the best deal that we’ve seen today. Since it is over $30 cheaper than usual, however, it’s very hard to resist this compelling offer. After all, there are some great cards potentially inside each pack, and the expected value sits at around $96. Thanks to this, most of the time players should theoretically get their money’s worth.
If you’re not as keen to spend so much, the Dominaria United Bundle is also on sale right now. Boasting a very decent $20 discount, currently, this product sells for just $25.99. Containing eight Set Boosters and accessories, it’s hard to say this is a bad deal at all!
Keep Your Eyes Peeled
As we mentioned at the start of this article, Amazon Prime Day is a very lucrative yet volatile time. The best deals can come and go in an instant, so it pays to be looking out when you can. It’s also worth remembering that details are also region-based. If you’re outside of the US, you’ll likely have different Amazon Prime Day MTG offers available to you, for better and worse. Hopefully with this in mind, you’ll be able to snag a few deeply discounted deals across Amazon Prime Day this year.
