Whether you love it or hate it (most people hate it), Alchemy is shutting down in February of next year. Before then, however, this format is getting one last hurrah in the form of Alchemy: Reality Fracture. Set to be released on October 13th, the MTG Arena team is supposedly making the final Alchemy set one to remember, and freshly leaked artwork appears to confirm this.
Alchemy: Reality Fracture Planeswalkers Leaked?
Following a recent update to the MTG Arena client, as usual, dataminers quickly went about stripping it for any potential goodies. While this rarely turns up much we haven’t seen before, we did get an interesting surprise today. Found by MTGA Extract, it appears that we’re getting reality-swapped Planeswalkers for Oko and Quintorius Kand in Alchemy: Reality Fracture.
Right now, this art is sadly all we have to go off of, which leaves some unanswered questions. For as good as both of these artworks look, there’s technically no guarantee they’re Planeswalkers. From the looks of things, in fact, they’ll be new equippable Avatars for the game, but Planeswalkers do often get that treatment.
Thankfully, to add a little more fuel to the Planeswalker fire, an MTG Arena developer has previously teased that we’ll be getting Planeswalkers in the set. Additionally, there are supposedly some “extra spicy lines of text” within the set, which sounds hugely exciting. That said, given how often Alchemy cards have created problems across multiple formats, maybe exciting isn’t the right word.
Sadly, while hype for a presumably nice Oko and Fatehold Quintorius is high right now, spoilers are a ways away. Typically, Alchemy spoilers aren’t shown off until a week before the Alchemy set’s release date. As such, we might be stuck waiting until October 5th for more information.
