Despite MTG’s recent Secret Lairs featuring intriguing artwork, their secondary-market values are rarely up to snuff. This has certainly been the case for the majority of the Cats Are the Best Secret Lair, offering multiple gorgeous reprints with terrible values. That said, it seems like Cats Are the Best has saved the best drop for last, as the final Secret Lair for this drop is an absolute banger.
Secret Lair: Toby’s Adventure
Featuring a recurring cat character from artist Gary Baseman, Toby’s Adventure has the most valuable reprint in all of Cats Are the Best. Seeing play in every single format it’s legal in, Prismatic Vista essentially functions as an untapped Evolving Wilds. This allows the card to see widespread Commander play, appearing in over 423,000 decks according to EDHREC. Thanks to this and its very limited print run, Prismatic Vista currently goes for $38, while premium variants skew closer to $45.
As you may expect, the value in Toby’s Adventure drops off significantly after this, but it’s not all bad. Previously seen in the original teasers for this drop, Sovereign Okinec Ahau is the second most valuable card in this Secret Lair, demanding $3.50 at its cheapest. In addition to being a decent Commander, this cat does wonders in Selesnya +1/+1 counter decks.
Thanks to recent reprints, Trailblazer’s Boots is now a $1 card, but it remains a Commander staple. Seeing play in over 181,000 decks, this artifact essentially makes any equipped creature unblockable in the format. Farseek, another $1.50 reprint, sees play in over 1,490,000 different Commander decks, finding even nonbasic land fixing for just two mana. Considering its popularity, Farseek has quite a substantial existing Secret Lair premium, going for $6.
Sadly, the last card for this Secret Lair isn’t all that interesting. With a secondary market value of just $0.25, Long Goodbye is a Standard legal removal spell that sees fringe play across formats. Being uncounterable is a big boon here, but the mana value restriction makes it hard to profit off a card like this.

With a total reprint value of $44.25 for its nonfoil variant, Toby’s Adventure is the best Secret Lair available in the Cats Are the Best Secret Lair superdrop. Fortunately, for those excited to get their hands on this drop, you won’t have to wait much longer. Going for sale on June 15th, there’s just about a week left before Cats Are the Best hits shelves. Sadly, Secret Lairs that are valuable tend to sell out quickly, so you’ll want to jump into the prequeue at 11:00 AM EST to give yourself the best chance.
