New MTG Chaos Vault Cards Surprisingly Announced Ahead of Official Launch

Share

As you might expect, given its name, the Chaos Vault sub-sub brand has thrived on chaos. Not only has it offered some of the weirdest Secret Lair products, but they’ll appear out of the blue, too. Recently, however, Wizards of the Coast appears to have changed their tune by releasing more pre-announced products.

For better or worse, this is exactly what has happened to the Two Scoops, Your Way Chaos Drop. After being teased late last week, Wizards has now officially unveiled the name of this drop, alongside two cards. Thanks to past leaks, we know a surprisingly large amount about what we’re in for.

While it has been officially announced, there’s still a good bit we don’t know about Two Scoops, Your Way. From the sounds of things, two drops are being bundled together, and you don’t have a choice but to buy two. Currently, it’s unclear whether or not this will be for the normal Secret Lair price of $29.99, or if it’ll be twice that.

Either way, MTG players will have a decision to make when it does come time to part with their cold, hard cash. According to the new email announcement, the drops will be available in “foil and non-foil, scooped into bundles of two.” All you have to do is pick what drops you want and what finishes, and then head to checkout.

So far, only Crypt Ghast and Battle Hymn have been officially revealed as part of this Chaos Vault drop. From a financial perspective, Crypt Ghast is thankfully pretty impressive, with a base value of around $11 and a Secret Lair printing that goes for $14. Battle Hymn, on the other hand, is rather woeful, as despite being a potentially powerful ritual, it sells for $2.

Sadly, outside of the obvious retro theme for the Back in my Day drop, little is known about it currently. The Inked drop, however, is practically an open book, thanks to a leak last year that fully revealed it. With Deathrite Shaman, Mulldrifter, Ice-Fang Coatl, and Burnished Hart adding another $8 of value, the Inked drop is worth roughly $20.

As for the Back in my Day drop, we’ll just have to wait patiently for more information. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait long, at least, as the Two Scoops, Your Way Chaos Drop will launch tomorrow. As always, this drop launches at 9 AM PT or 12 PM EST, so it’ll be worth preparing for then, in case it sells out.
