Over the past year, Premodern’s popularity has risen considerably. Despite no new cards entering the format, it remains fresh, and players continue to find new ways to innovate. Unsurprisingly, Premodern’s growth has led to a major increase in demand for format staples, and major price spikes have followed suit. Old designs that lack reprints have been especially vulnerable to major market shifts, and it appears that Intuition is the latest card to see its price soar.
MTG Intuition

As a three-mana tutor, Intuition is an extremely powerful card. Even though your opponent gets to choose the card you keep in hand from among the options you search for, it isn’t difficult to get what you want out of the potent instant.
At worst, finding one of three useful cards in any situation is a pretty decent floor, even for three mana. When you factor in Intuition putting the other cards in the graveyard, however, the potential synergy is increased dramatically. This opens up tons of graveyard synergies, essentially allowing you to Entomb two cards. Thanks to this, Intuition has long been a staple in MTG.
In Commander, in particular, Intuition appears in over 70,000 Commander decks, according to EDHREC. This card is even a Game Changer; in fact, thanks to its insane potential in a variety of blue-aligned strategies. This card even sees some Legacy play; however, it’s more recently been popping up in Premodern.
Since you can easily choose three copies of the same card to bypass its restriction, Intuition is a fantastic tutor in Premodern. Appearing in Azorius Replenish and Iggy Pop decks, this card works wonders for finding either archetype’s win conditions. In Azorius Replenish, there’s also the upside of putting enchantments into the graveyard so you can Replenish them back into action.
While these strategies utilizing Intuition aren’t new in MTG or Premodern, they have been growing in popularity. Following the banning of Parallax Tide in January, the popularity of these decks has been steadily climbing. Adding to this Premodern’s quickly increasing popularity, it’s no wonder that Intuition has spiked in price so much recently.
The Spike

Like many powerful cards on the Reserved List, Intuition has always been an expensive card. Looking back at the card’s price history on MTGStocks, near-mint copies have been selling for at least $140 since 2021. More recently, however, since June of 2025, copies of Intuition have been selling for at least $200 on TCGplayer.
Following Parallax Tide being banned in January, demand for Intuition has unsurprisingly picked up, however, not by much. In the past three months, only 42 near-mint copies of the card have been sold on TCGplayer. While lightly played copies have been selling slightly better, with 60 confirmed sales, this still isn’t a massive jump.
Thanks to Intuition already being so in demand, however, even this slight jump in demand completely depleted the market. Currently, there are only seven near-mint listings left on TCGPlayer, and the prices for these have skyrocketed. Right now, if you want to pick up a near-mint copy of Intuition, it’ll set you back $340, which is insane.
If you’re still in the market for a copy of Intuition, technically, worse-condition copies are cheaper right now. Damaged copies, for instance, start at around $250, which is a considerable saving, provided you can play it. In tournament settings, damaged cards aren’t always allowed, but for Commander, this low condition shouldn’t be a problem.
Should you want to spend even more money, for whatever reason, there’s also a Judge Promo variant of Intuition. As the only way to get foil copies of the card, this Intuition variant is unsurprisingly expensive, with near-mint copies having sold for $1,700. Unfortunately, if you want to buy a copy for yourself, current prices are even higher, with near-mint listings starting at $1,999.99.
Moving Forward
While predicting Premodern spikes is typically quite difficult, there are reasons to believe that Intuition’s price won’t be dropping too far anytime soon. First and foremost, unlike recent spikes to cards like Morphling and Engineered Plague, Intuition’s appeal extends beyond just Premodern. As a tutor that commonly makes a splash in higher Commander brackets and cEDH, this instant’s demand will likely remain high for the foreseeable future.
On top of that, while Azorius Replenish in Premodern is still a strong deck choice, it’s hardly a power outlier. As such, the deck is in no danger of getting hit by a looming ban, meaning Intuition should retain its most popular home.
Plus, without a possibility of a future reprint, Intuition seems poised to remain in low supply and stay expensive as a result. So while predicting Intuition’s exact prices in the near future is impossible, if you can find a good deal on the potent tutor, it could be worth pulling the trigger.
