At long last, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set has finally been released today. As usual, this release date doesn’t mean much, since the set has been playable for a week already. This time around, however, this official release date has been made a little bit more special thanks to Secret Lair.
While the Totally TubuLair Superdrop launched on Monday, these new drops are already in players’ hands thanks to speedy shipments. Considering every single one of these TMNT-themed drops is still available for purchase, it seems Secret Lair’s problems might finally be behind us. Better than that, we now have a brand new batch of six bonus sheet reprints to admire.
As always, for better or worse, these bonus sheet reprints aren’t all made equal. While the majority of the new bonus cards are pretty weak, value-wise, there is one exception. If the new Slime Against Humanity reprint is anything like its predecessor, it might just sell for $250!
A New $250 Slime?!

Currently, Slime Against Humanity is the latest “Relentless” card getting the bonus card treatment, like Persistent Petitioners. For better or worse, cards in Relentless bonus card cycles like these tend to be somewhat all over the place. Persistent Petitioners, for example, has some variants that sell for $15, and others that go for $300.
While it’s still very early days, it does appear that Slime Against Humanity is off to a very good start. The first bonus sheet reprint of this card is already selling for a staggering $254, right now. With the new TMNT-themed version also being a chase rare bonus card, there’s a real chance it could sell for a similar sum.
That being said, accurately predicting the potential price of this reprint is more art than science. The Universes Beyond artwork on this reprint could kill much of its value, for instance, or the supply could be overly abundant. Considering each of the TMNT drops is still available right now, the chances of this happening do feel somewhat high.
Ultimately, for now, we’ll just have to wait and see where the price of this Slime Against Humanity ends up in a couple of months. Until we get a sense of exactly how rare this rare bonus card is, its price will frustratingly be a mystery.
A Bunch of Duds

Unfortunately for anyone hoping that the TMNT bonus cards would provide an extra kick of value, the other five cards are rather disappointing. Out of the bunch, Possibility Storm is the best reprint, and that’s saying something, as it’s only $3. While this card does see some cEDH and Commander play, thanks to some especially mean combos, it’s hardly a format staple.
Technically, a couple of the TMNT bonus cards are Commander staples, but that doesn’t mean they’re automatically valuable. A recent bonus card reprint of Big Score is only selling for $1, for instance, despite having a $9 Secret Lair variant. In theory, the same could happen to this new bonus card reprint, as well as the Regrowth reprint, too.
As always, the art and rarity of each bonus card will likely have a major effect on the card’s price tag. Given how much MTG players have been complaining about the TMNT set, reprint prices could easily be lower than expected. This could be especially problematic for the Piper of the Swarm reprint, not that it was expensive to begin with.
Typically selling for around $2, this card’s TMNT reprint is bound to have a strong ‘love it or hate it’ reaction. The only card this might not apply to, in fact, is Butcher of Malakir, which has a normal and black and white variant. While this card is only worth $0.40, demand could still be surprisingly high, since it’s an Aristocrats staple.
Not So Secret Secret Lairs
While the value from most of the TMNT bonus cards may be disappointing, it’s not all bad news. Not only is the Slime Against Humanity potentially hugely valuable, but each drop is still available. This makes all of the newly revealed bonus cards basically guaranteed extra value, even if it’s not much.
If you’re in the market for picking any of these cards up, here’s where you can find each of the TMNT x MTG bonus cards.
