New MTG Leaks Reveal TMNT Promos and New Secret Lair Card

Share

Unfortunately for anyone who likes the surprise of spoiler season, leaks are a common occurrence in MTG. Thanks to the extensive production pipeline, we regularly see cards slip through the cracks and end up in players’ hands early. Sadly, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles MTG set has been especially bad for this.

Due to an issue with Lorwyn Eclipsed prerelease packs, Wizards had to officially reveal every rare and mythic from the set. As if this wasn’t bad enough, now, even more leaks have surfaced online. With two of the set’s Pizza Promos now being leaked ahead of schedule, it seems this set will have some pretty pricey reprints, too!

In the Pizza Bundle for the TMNT MTG set, Wizards is reprinting six classic MTG cards with unique pizza-themed artwork. Judging by the first of these promos, a reprint of Dark Ritual, it seemed like iconic Commander staples were on the menu. Now, the latest MTG TMNT leaks have proven this expectation correct, so long as the leak is genuine.

Out of the two new leaked promo reprints, Food Chain is easily the best of the pair. Offering an insane mana-ramp ability, this card has tons of potential in Commander and cEDH. Appearing in over 62,000 decks, according to EDHREC, the only thing stopping this card from being a true staple is its price point.

Since Food Chain has only seen one widely available reprint, copies of this powerful enchantment will set you back $42. Unfortunately, it’s unclear how much the leaked Pizza Box promo reprint will help to bring down this price point. Considering there’s a one in three chance of finding this card in each Pizza Bundle, it could actually be quite useful.

For better or worse, Waste Not doesn’t require a reprint as badly, as this card is available for around $7. Despite this weaker price point, Waste Not is rather popular in Commander, appearing in around 94,000 decks. In theory, this means this new promo variant could actually be quite pricy. That, however, all depends on what MTG players think of the art.

While it’s still very early days, initial impressions of this pizza-themed promo are not at all positive. Due to this, this Waste Not reprint may end up falling a fair bit under the usual price. Whether or not that will end up happening, however, remains to be seen.

A New New Secret Lair Precon?

Zada, Hedron Grinder Leak

Back in December, a handful of cards from what looked to be an upcoming Secret Lair precon were revealed. All boasting the same artstyle, this currently unannounced product offers a ton of reprint value, getting players understandably excited. While we’ve not heard a peep about this product yet, it looks like there might be another Secret Lair precon in the works, too.

Admittedly, evidence that this reprint of Zada, Hedron Grinder is for a Secret Lair precon is somewhat suspect. Looking at the size of the shrink-wrapped packages, it is definitely a possibility, as it’s bigger than a usual Secret Lair. That being said, from what’s visible in another image, this could just be a big stack of the same card.

Unfortunately, if Zada, Hedron Grinder is just part of an upcoming normal Secret Lair drop, its value isn’t too exciting. With copies available for just $0.13, it’s hard to call this card anything other than a financial dud. That said, Zada is fairly popular in Commander, leading over 10,000 decks and being in the 99 of over 26,000.

More Coming Soon

Ultimately, since there’s so little information surrounding this new Zada printing, we’ll just have to wait patiently for more news. If this card does end up being part of a new Secret Lair precon, it seems Wizards will be pulling out all the stops in 2026. Between this hypothetical deck and the one we saw in late 2025, Secret Lair should have one hell of a year.

Thankfully, while the mysterious Secret Lair products don’t have an official release date, the TMNT MTG set does. In fact, spoilers for this set are due to begin very soon, with the preview season starting on February 17th. Once this begins, it won’t be long before we see the Pizza Box promos and find out if this leak is actually legit.
