Despite Wizards’ best efforts to slow down the MTG release calendar, 2026 is feeling awfully hectic. So far, only one set has been released, yet we’ve already been bombarded with leaks thanks to a production mishap. As if that wasn’t bad enough, a brand new Marvel Super Heroes leak has just surfaced online.
Even though this set doesn’t release until June, the four precons for this deck have just been revealed online. Mercifully, only the box art has been leaked so far, with no new cards being confirmed just yet. Still, this leak does show us what to expect from each of the four decks, and MTG players aren’t exactly thrilled.
MTG Avengers Assemble Leak

As one of the most iconic phrases within the vast world of Marvel, it makes sense that Wizards is making an Avengers Assemble precon. Following on from Captain America’s first appearance as Captain America, First Avenger, it seems this deck is also equipment themed. Potentially, this could mean this Secret Lair card is being reprinted in the precon, but that’s far from guaranteed right now.
What we do know, if this leak is to be believed, is that this deck’s focus will be split between +1/+1 Counters and equipment. While this dual strategy could prove interesting, or at least upgradeable, this deck hardly seems revolutionary. For whatever reason, Wizards has been printing a ton of Jeskai precons recently, and Avengers Assemble doesn’t do anything too special.
While MTG players are already disappointed with this color choice, realistically, it’s too early to judge the deck. There’s a very real chance that the deck’s new cards could push this color in a new, interesting direction, after all. Whether or not that will actually happen, however, remains to be seen.
MTG Doom Prevails Leak

While Jeskai decks can often feel a bit run-of-the-mill nowadays, a Grixis-based Villains deck feels painfully on the nose. Reacting to these leaks, MTG players haven’t held back their frustration with this choice. In the eyes of many, it feels like Wizards is picking the safest, most obvious archetypes for these precons.
In terms of this deck’s actual gameplay, it appears that Connive will be the main mechanic appearing throughout the precon. As a rather villain-coded mechanic, this choice once again feels rather obvious, which isn’t the most exciting. The same is true for the “Drain Life” tagline, as Aristocrats and Group Slug decks are nothing new.
Realistically, while the themes of this deck may be very tame, it’s not all bad news. As much as they’re played out, Connive is a useful mechanic, and Aristocrats is a very popular archetype. Should the Doom Prevails precon play into both of these, then a lot of decks will get some useful new support. At the very least, we could get some nice reprints to help keep costs down in Commander.
MTG The Fantastic Four Leak

While this is the first time we’ve seen The Fantastic Four precon deckbox, the deck itself isn’t new news. Back in December, Wizards’ preview prologue for Marvel Super Heroes revealed the four Commander options in this deck. Unsurprisingly, each of these options is one of The Fantastic Four, and each one has a unique four-colored ability.
Now that we can see the deck box, the themes of this deck have been revealed, but they admittedly aren’t very helpful. The “Protection Fields” tag line makes it sound like this is a fairly Wall-focused deck, or perhaps even Turbo Fog-based. Frustratingly, the “Noncreature Spells” descriptor is even less helpful, as that hardly pins down an archetype.
Even looking back to the four revealed Commanders for this deck, only one of them has a semblance of synergy with the supposed themes. Since she creates walls, the Invisible Woman may be the go-to Commander choice for this precon, but it’s far too early to know that. Ultimately, we’ll just have to wait patiently for more information.
MTG Wakanda Forever Leak

Out of all of the newly leaked Marvel Super Heroes precons, Wakanda Forever looks the most interesting. Supposedly offering a theme that’s built around the Monarch and Artifact synergies, this precon takes Selesnya in a new direction. Since Artifact Typal decks are typically blue-aligned, there could be a lot of interesting support here.
Much like the Avengers Assemble precon, there’s also a chance that Black Panther, Wakandan King could be reprinted here. If this does happen, it’s possible the entire deck could have a land-based sub-theme, but that’s unconfirmed for now. Realistically, it feels like this deck could be heavily Vibranium-themed, but this doesn’t exist in MTG yet.
More Marvel Coming Soon?
Notably, while there is a lot to be excited about here, one iconic Marvel team is missing. For better or worse, the X-Men don’t have their own precon here. While this may seem disappointing, it effectively confirmed what we already assumed: that we’d be getting more Marvel sets.
For now, there’s no information on when we’ll be getting another Marvel set, and if it’ll be entirely X-Men-themed. Given this series has plenty of iconic characters and villains, it could easily support a set of its own, so anything is possible. Potentially, this hypothetical set could even be released in 2027, but that remains to be seen.
For now, while these leaks do reveal a smidgen more information, it’s worthwhile being slightly skeptical. While MTG leaks are far from uncommon nowadays, these precons could easily be faked. As such, it’ll be worth waiting for official information before boarding the hype train.
